Start 15 minutes early β€” systems can be slow, and this gives you time to troubleshoot if needed.

Follow this order to avoid crashes:

  1. Insert smart card

Put your smart card into the reader before opening GP in the Cloud.

  2. Log into GP in the Cloud

This may take a few minutes.

  3. Enter smart card PIN & select the correct practice for your session.

  4. Open EMIS Web

Pre-installed on your virtual desktop. Change the organisation ID to match the practice you're working with.

  5. Open EMIS X

Set up your EMIS quick links if you haven't already.

  6. Log into Microsoft Word

Sign in with your NHS Microsoft account when prompted.

  7. Load AccuRx

Load AccuRx, and login with you NHS username and password

  8. One-time setup

If this is your first session with a new practice, complete smart card synchronisation.
